WOODSTOCK – After reviewing two bids for equipment for the town’s new plow truck, selectmen voted unanimously Tuesday to accept the low bidder from Tenco Equipment of Berwick.

The bid for a body with sander, plow, wing and hydraulic accessories came in at $49,720 plus $1,207 for some options that will benefit the highway crew summer and winter. The total is $50,927.

The other bid was from H.P. Fairfield of Skowhegan for $56,475.

Installation of the equipment is expected to be complete in five to six weeks.

The board also voted unanimously to advertise the town’s 1994 Ford plow truck in Uncle Henry’s magazine for a minimum price of $17,000. That price includes a plow and sander.

Town Manager and Road Commissioner Vern Maxfield also plans to contact equipment dealers in case any are interested in the truck and equipment. Money from the sale will offset the cost of outfitting the new truck.

It was also decided to sell the sander from the town’s one-ton truck since it is seldom used. The asking price for was set at $2,300.

Sonja Davis was confirmed as a Whitman Memorial Library trustee.
