AUBURN – The Auburn Teen Library Advisors (ATLAS) are pleased and excited to announce Teen Summer Reading 2007 at the Auburn Public Library. All area teens are welcome to attend any activities at the library and participate in keeping track of their reading throughout the summer.

Events planned include:
A Teen Open Mic night on Friday, June 29 at 6 p.m. Musicians, singer/songwriters, spoken word artists and comics are invited to perform.
ATLAS will meet Thursday, June 28 and July 26 at 4 p.m. and meets monthly throughout the year. ATLAS is open to all teens in the area who are interested in assisting in planning library services and activities for teens. The Anime Club meets Wednesday, July 11 and 25 at 3:30 p.m. and also meets year round, twice monthly. Anime is Japanese animation. Jay Fiori, our resident anime artist is always here to chat and share tips. Jay will also be on hand Saturday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a three hour workshop on anime art techniques and discussing manga comics and characters. On Monday, August 6 at 6 p.m. there will be a Pizza Party/Book Swap where teens can trade books they are ready to part with and get new ones to read. There’ll be lots of pizza, other teens to talk to, and a chance to win a year’s worth of free movie tickets to Flagship Cinema. All activities above are free and refreshments are served at all. Some door prizes will be be available.
A special feature of the TSR2007 are the prizes for keeping track of your reading this summer. Read three books and teens receive collectible coins, free books/comic books and coupons to local eateries.
