GARDINER – The Maine Technology Institute board of directors approved development awards to technology companies across Maine.

Selected in the Precision Manufacturing Technology category, D2 In-Line Solutions LLC in Gray will use MTI the award amount of $170,000 to build, test and debug a metallizer, part of the company’s proprietary Thick Layer Metallization process for applying coatings to composite parts.

The company was also approved for funding of eligible activities from MTI’s North Star Alliance Technology Fund, part of the state of Maine’s workforce and economic development initiative targeting the boatbuilding, composites and marine trade industries funded by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Also in the Precision Manufacturing Technology category, microSpectral Sensors LLC in Wilton will embed its integrated and miniaturized spectral sensors into a commercial sampling system platform for inline, real time composition and purity measurements of liquid streams. It received an award in the amount of $349,556.
