SOUTH PARIS – Veterans organizations recently sponsored a brunch and information session for town managers from communities served by the Maine Veterans’ Home. The brunch was co-sponsored by the Western Maine Veterans Advisory Committee (WMVAC) and prepared by the home’s dietary department.
Managers were briefed on the services available by Pat Young, MVH administrator. He noted that the event helped town officials working with various programs to understand the services available in western Maine, thus further assisting community members looking for appropriate accommodations.
“We want communities to understand that we are a 90-bed multi-level nursing facility that serves veterans as well as their spouses and widows, and gold star parents,” Joe Cooney, chairman of WMVAC said.
A tour followed.
