LEWISTON – At the June 19 City Council meeting, councilors commended Ally Beaucage and Kelin Sevit, who have served on the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council since 2003, for their service.

Councilor Norm Rousseau, liaison to LYAC, said “LYAC’s many initiatives, such as U BOOZE U LOOZE, were a highlight of Lewiston’s recent All-America City win, and national judges praised the youth council for outstanding civic engagement. Beaucage and Sevit were part of the 2006 All-America City competition. Such genuine interest in what the city is accomplishing continues to be the youth council’s legacy. Certifications of achievement were presented to both Beaucage and Sevit by the council.

Beaucage will be attending the University of New Haven in Connecticut to study forensic and investigative science, and Sevit will be attending Daniel Webster College in Nashua, N.H., to study aviation flight operations to become a commercial pilot.
