AUBURN – Back by popular demand is Auburn Public Library’s annual summer reading program Books and Banter.
Starting in July and running through August 16, adults are invited to kick back to read for the shear enjoyment of it. The more adults read, the more chance they’ll have to win one of three gift baskets of books.
On Thursday, July 19, 26, and Aug. 2, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., adults are also invited to join the Book, Banter and Breakfast to talk about books you’ve read and will want to read.
On Thursday, Aug. 16, at 6:30 p.m., author mystery and suspense P.D. LaFleur will visit the Auburn Public Library to talk about the mystery-suspense novel, which is among the most popular forms of fiction today. LaFleur is the author of “In the Company of Strangers.” His latest novel is “Vengeance Betrayed,” a fast-paced story of international intrigue set against the backdrop of the conflict in Northern Ireland. Of special interest to L-A readers is that the book features an Auburn-born heroine who becomes entangled in a plot to derail the peace talks.
