Flea market
BRYANT POND – The Franklin Grange 124 of Main Street will host a craft and food sale and flea market fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at the grange hall. A light lunch will be available at noon. There will be music by the Richard G. Flet Band.
Library book sale
BRYANT POND – The Whitman Memorial Library will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 7.
Strawberry festival
BUCKFIELD – The annual Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday, July 7, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Buckfield Legion Hall on Route 140. There will be steamed hot dogs, fresh homemade strawberry shortcakes, a food sale, potted perennial plants and a huge yard sale.
Bake sale
NORWAY – The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will hold its annual bake sale on Saturday, July 7, beginning at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Dow’s Law Office, 266 Main Street. Rain location is at the Second Congregational Church.
Pie sale
NORWAY – Bakers from the Second Congregational Church will be selling their homemade pies, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 7.
The sale, sponsored by the board of trustees, will be held under the large white tent on the corner of Main and Paris streets. Apple, blueberry, chocolate, custard, rhubarb, pumpkin and peach will be some of the 100 pies that will be for sale. Large, whole pies will sell for $8.50.
Bean supper
PARIS – A baked bean supper will be held Saturday, July 7, at the First Baptist Church of Paris. Two sittings will be held at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. There will be several kinds of beans, hot dogs, lasagna, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, salad, brown bread, yeast rolls, pies, coffee, ice tea, water and punch. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Containers of beans will be available for takeout. Proceeds will be used for office equipment and developing a Web site for the church.
