Music Together of Lewiston/Auburn, a parent/child music and movement program, is accepting registrations for the summer schedule. Classes will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturdays. Additional classes will be added as necessary.

The goal of Music Together is to develop every child’s opportunity for basic music competence by encouraging music experience rather than learning of information about music.

Families are encouraged to attend class together, so younger children and older children in the same family can learn music and movement activities to enjoy at home.

Classes are geared toward children ranging in age from birth to age five.

In a Music Together class, 12 children and their parents or caregivers meet for 45 minutes each week for 10 weeks to experience new songs, chants, movement activities and instrumental jam sessions.

Each semester is based on a collection of 30 songs through which the elements of music such as melody, harmony and rhythm are explored.

Each participating family receives the collection of songs on two professional recordings as part of the registration fee.

Music Together of Lewiston/Auburn will begin the summer semester on Saturday, July 7.
