LEWISTON – Richard J. Dupuis, 73, of Lewiston passed away Sunday, July 1, after a most courageous battle with cancer.

He was born July 30, 1933, in Portland, he grew up locally and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1952. Dick worked for Cote’s Dairy for 18 years. Soon after he began Well Real Estate and worked as a realtor for 22 years.

He was a 24-year board member of the Rainbow Credit Union. During that time he had the oppotunity to be a valuable volunteer for St. Joseph’s School.

Many wonderful memories with his family were had at their summer home on Allen Pond. He gave attention to all sports during his life. He took great pride in driving at Oxford Plains Speedway in the 1970s.

In present times he took an avid interest in his golf game, accomplishing a lucky Hole-in-One. Spending winters in Largo, Fla., allowed him to play all year.

A love of life has always been spiritually within him. Certainly it was a trait obvious to his many friends.

He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey S. Dupuis of Topsham and Richard A. Dupuis of Lewiston; the mother of his sons, Eileen Jordan; Ida Grondin, Gregory and Patty Veayo, Steven and Michelle Veayo were members of his loving extended family; Pepere was blessed with eight grandchildren, Mason, Summer, Casey, Christie, Jacob, Zachariah, Katherine and Kristen; a sister, Doris Bergeron of Lewiston; and a brother, James McDermitt of Bangor.

Please let it be known that the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice gave special care and kindness that shall not be forgotten.

To all that knew him, there is no way to explain the free spirit that he felt and expressed. Rest well, Richard. You are deserving. You have left this world loved.
