BRUNSWICK – Tyler Dorris drove in five runs as New Auburn swept Brunswick in a legion baseball doubleheader Saturday. New Auburn won the opener 4-2, and won the second game 12-2 in six innings.

Kevin Smith’s RBI triple and Dorris two-run single helped New Auburn (8-4) gain a 4-0 lead in the opener. After Chris Sawyer knocked in two runs in the bottom of the third, Brady Blackman (3-0) relieved for New Auburn with the bases loaded and one out. He struck out Jon Simmons and Duncan Lowe to end the threat. Blackman gave up just one hit while striking out six.

Dorris had a two-run single and Cory LaRue belted a two-run double to key a five-run first in the nightcap. Dorris added an RBI single in the fourth and LaRue followed with a two-run safety as New Auburn opened up a 10-0 for starter Adam Lutz (2-0).

Anthony Viola knocked in a pair of runs with a fourth-inning single for Brunswick (1-9).

Bessey Motors 11-1, Andy Valley 1-11

TURNER – Dylan Trundy tossed a one-hitter and slugged a pair of home runs to lead Bessey Motors to an 11-1 win over Andy Valley in Game 1 of a legion doubleheader Saturday. Andy Valley won Game 2, 11-1.

Trundy yielded just a fifth-inning single off the bat of Zach Keene. He helped himself at the plate with a solo homer in the second and followed that up with a three-run shot in the third. Russell Estes added a three-run home run.

Josh Emery led the hit parade for Andy Valley (3-8) in the second game. He ripped a solo homer in the second and plated a pair of runs with a fifth-inning single. Jake Marceau (1-3) went the first four innings to pick up the win. He also had a pair of singles and a double.

Northern Oxford 2-9, Gilman Electric 12-3

POLAND – Ben French’s first-inning grand slam keyed a five-run outburst to help Northern Oxford County to a 9-3 victory over Gilman Electric in the second game of a legion doubleheader Saturday. Gilman Electric won the opener, 12-2.

Matt Laubauskas (3-0) allowed six hits over seven innings to pick up the win for Northern Oxford County (7-6). Joe Douglass homered to lead Gilman (7-4).

In the opener, Gilman scored four runs in the fourth and added five more in the fifth. Tyler Merchant had three hits and drove in three runs. Douglass added a home run. Kyle Mullins (2-0) went the distance to collect the win.
