WATERFORD – Mark Heidmann of Maple Springs Farm in Harrison will present “Tell, Show and Taste” at 7 p.m. Monday, July 16, as the 10th annual Sheena Fraser Memorial Lecture at the Waterford Library.

He will discuss the fruits and vegetables that he grows on his farm and suggest the best choices for the home garden. He will share his enthusiasm for heirloom tomatoes and offer a taste of his garden produce.

The annual lectures are supported by an endowment created by the family and friends of Sheena Fraser, a native of England. Fraser’s love of plants and her garden across from the Waterford Library made the endowment a tribute after her death.

Also each year, books on gardening and related topics are added to the Sheena Fraser Collection in her memory. The special collection in the Waterford Library now contains more than 100 books on landscaping, vegetable gardening, perennials and annuals, including practical advise for the master and the beginning gardener.

Readers will also find reflective books on gardening by such authors as Leslie Land, Katharine White and Amy Stewart. The public is invited to this lecture.
