LEWISTON – Gene Geiger, president of Geiger, was recently elected president of Diary Publishers International for a one-year term.

DPI is an international association of the world’s leading diary, planner and organizer publishers. It was founded in 1956 in Bielefeld, Germany, to help member companies improve their production and businesses processes, and to grow their companies.

Association rules limit participation to one member company per country. Geiger has been the sole U.S. representative since 1960.

The group held its 52nd annual meeting in Portland and Lewiston from June 20 to 23.

This was the sixth time Geiger has been the host of the international conference. Companies from Canada, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Finland and Australia were in attendance. At the meeting’s end, Geiger was elected president and will serve through next year’s meeting in Helsinki, Finland.
