LEWISTON – Helen I. McPherson, 77, of Lewiston, died July 11, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She very peacefully went to be with her beloved Lord and Savior as she was lovingly surrounded by many of her family members.

She was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Avon, the daughter of Harold Joseph Cook and Lucille Tressa (Steward) Cook.

She was educated in the local schools in the Phillips and Farmington areas.

She and her first husband, Edward Goff, raised three sons together. Later in life, she married Raymond McPherson, and they enjoyed several happy years together. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her “big” heart and great love she had for her family, especially her sons, granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Michael J. Goff, and his long-time significant-other, Allison Bowring, of Anson, and John Goff of Washington; two granddaughters, Jennifer Schmidt, and husband, Gregory, of Southwick, Mass., and Jessica Crispin, and her husband, Brian, of Madison; four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Brandon Schmidt and Jaithon and Brilynn Crispin; her former daughter-in-law, Cheryl Goff of Madison; her sister-in-law, Lydia Cook of Leeds; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her two husbands; her precious son, Charles Goff; her sister, Mildred; and three brothers, Maurice, Kenneth and Ernest.
