Congratulations to Lewiston on being named an All-America City. The city recently took part in a rigorous national competition and succeeded in garnering a highly esteemed designation. Its innovative thinking and contagious enthusiasm contributed to the success of its efforts.

Lewiston is now a model for communities across the country. It’s clearly a community that works with various sectors – such as business, nonprofits, government and youth – to enhance its positives and to address its challenges. Communities across the country will now look to Lewiston as they struggle to find solutions to their most pressing concerns.

The National Civic League encourages Lewiston to continue its spirit of collaborative problem solving that has made it a “stand-out” city in which to live, work, play and raise a family.

Lewiston contributed to the betterment of communities all across the nation by participating in the national 2007 All-America City process. The city has made a worthwhile and long-term investment, not only in its community, but in our country as well.

Gloria Rubio-Cortes, Denver, Colo.

President, National Civic League
