FARMINGTON – Irene M. Lowell, 88, of New Vineyard, died Sunday, July 15, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

She was born, Sept. 30, 1918, in Wilton, a daughter of Guy and Grace (Thompson) Bubier. She was educated in local schools. On Feb. 25, 1940, she married Everett M. Lowell and raised nine children. She and her husband travelled the fair circuit for several years selling concessions. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by three daughters, Myrtle Tripp of Farmington, Jennie Dyer and her husband, Elmon, of Farmington, and Ann Sparrow and her husband, Ronald, of Tennessee; four sons, Ernest Lowell and his wife, Grace, of Farmington, George Lowell and his wife, Judy, of New Vineyard, Mike Lowell and his companion, Cecile, of Stratton, and Al Lowell and his wife, Susan, of Strong; three sisters, Ruth Stratton of Mercer, Thelma Storer and her husband, Joe, of Wilton, and Maxine Collins of Wilton; two brothers, Walter Bubier and his wife, Gwendolyn, of Winthrop, and Arthur Bubier and his wife, Julie, of Jay; several grandchildren; step grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; two sons, Victor and Merton Lowell; and a brother, Charles Bubier.
