SPOTSWOOD, N.J. – Ronald Samuel Novak, 74, died Saturday, July 21, at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison, N.J., after a long illness.

He wa born in Keasbey to Samuel and Elizabeth (Kiraly) Novak, he attended Woodbridge public schools and graduated from Rangeley High School. He continued his education and in 1961, he graduated from the University of Maine, Orono.

He married Dorothy Morton in 1961, and lived in Hopelawn for four years, before moving to Spotswood, N.J., where they lived for 42 years.

Ron was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 373, Perth Amboy and served as an officer for many years. He was a manager for the Spotswood Boys Baseball League for eight years. He was also a member of Lafayette Lodge 27, Free and Accepted Masons, for more than 40 years. He loved hunting and fishing and was a registered Maine guide.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dorothy; a son, Glenn of Jackson; a daughter, Rhonda Abell, and her husband, Jeffrey, of Mechanicsville, Pa.; two grandsons, Connor and Jordan; a sister, J. Donna Feeser; two sisters-in-law, Delores Novak of Hopelawn and Lean Morton of Rangeley; and two brothers-in-law, Donald and Richard Morton of Rangeley.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Gerard.
