FARMINGTON – With plans to open before Halloween, a construction crew laid foundation forms for a new party supply store, Celebrations Unlimited, on Thursday.

The store is on Fyfe Road across from Subway in West Farmington and will offer party supplies such as balloons, costumes, and wedding and graduation supplies, said owner Stephen Boivin of Boivin Enterprises.

After purchasing the former home of Charles Luger, Boivin said he had the house burned by the Farmington Fire Department and the site excavated to make room for the planned two-story structure. The back of the building abuts a hill.

Keeping a home-type style of building, the plan includes a two-bedroom apartment on the second floor with 10 parking spaces surrounding the front and sides as listed in the site application approved by the Planning Board.

Boivin said he has been researching the project for the last couple years and is already receiving numerous calls asking for gift certificates, specialty papers and other items. He plans to provide some party and wedding supplies that are not available in this area, he said.

A crew from Make It Fit Builders from Jay was working on the foundation Thursday.
