NORWAY – Timothy A. Churchill, president and chief executive officer of Western Maine Health, announces that Patty PorterRood has been named the new volunteer coordinator at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

PorterRood has a bachelor of science degree in microbiology and public health from Washington State University. She did her internship in medical technology at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash., before working as medical technologist in Washington state and Idaho. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology. She also did research and teaching at Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After coming to Maine, and for the past 18 years, she has worked with her husband in law practice as office manager/legal secretary.

PorterRood moved from Idaho to Maine 21 years ago and has lived in Waterford for 18 years, and has a son.

Stephens Memorial Hospital is an affiliate of Western Maine Health, which is part of the Maine Health® family.
