The article on Aquafina bottled water reminded me of an amusing incident, which occurred when I once attended a scientific convention in New York City. At the same time, there was a trade show going on.

A representive from Poland Spring was displaying and demonstrating bottled water dispensers.

I explained to him that I often went by Poland Spring and was curious to see the actual spring that their water came from. His reply was, I don’t know where the spring is. No one ever told me.
