OXFORD – A Mechanic Falls motorcyclist was listed in stable condition Tuesday night, three days after his bike crashed off East Oxford Road.

George Harwood, 60, suffered head and chest injuries in the accident and was listed in critical condition at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on Saturday night.

A nursing supervisor said Tuesday night that Harwood’s condition was stable.

The 60-year-old operator and his wife, Carol, were riding with other bikers when their motorcycle went out of control as it rounded a sharp curve at the top of a hill, police said.
