MEXICO – Mexico Public Library’s “Saddle Up and Read, Bookaroo!” summer reading program events scheduled for August have been announced.

Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m.: story and craft hour for kids ages 2 to 11 with special guest Michelle Boucher-Ladd.

Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m.: Teddy Bear picnic for kids ages 2 to 11. Bring a favorite Teddy Bear and a picnic lunch. There will be a Teddy Bear Parade, stories and games.

Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. Special guest, Alan Tacheny, juggler and mime, will be present for an end-of-summer reading celebration. Following his program, “Saddle Up and Read” awards will be given, followed by a pizza lunch.

There will be no story hour on Tuesday, Aug. 28. The library will resume its regular fall and winter preschool story and craft hours for children ages 2 to 5 at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4. For more information, call the library at 364-3281.
