Regarding William LaRochelle’s letter (Aug. 1) regarding Catholic contradictions, I must reply. All of the doctrines boil down to three little words: “God is love.”

I don’t believe that Jesus wants people to spend their days in petty disagreements. Rather, I think, he would want people to work together to create an ecumenical world, free of discord and with respect for the beliefs of all.

Each sect is composed of human beings. As the bumper sticker states, “Christians aren’t perfect. Just forgiven.” Unity, harmony and understanding are needed now more than ever.

Let’s all work together to make this world a more loving place.
