DERRY, N.H. (AP) – Police have charged a Derry woman with giving guns to a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old to confront a group of teens outside her home.
Janice Murphy, 40, gave the boys a .45-caliber handgun and a rifle on July 6, police said. Investigators say one of the boys fired a pistol shot into the air, scattering the group. Police would not discuss the relationship between the teens and the woman.
Murphy is charged with two counts of criminal liability for the conduct of another and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police would not say whether the teens will face charges.
Police said the confrontation started after one of the teens telephoned someone and invited him over for a fist fight.
