Going up! These programs are on the right track:

SOUTH FLORIDA – Good coach in Jim Leavitt. Good location in Tampa, Fla. Moving to the Big East, with its automatic BCS bid, was all the Bulls needed to become a consistent winner.

OKLAHOMA STATE – The Cowboys have a good offense and scored big in recruiting this season. They might not be able to go shot-for-shot with the Sooners, but coach Mike Gundy won’t concede anything to Oklahoma in the near future.

UCLA – Let’s put it this way, the Bruins better be on the upswing for coach Karl Dorrell’s sake. There are plenty of positive signs, such as the 13-9 victory over USC on the field and a couple more wins over the Trojans in recruiting. The Bruins don’t have to match the Trojans, just hang with them.
