MEXICO – Orville “ACE” Lind wowed the crowd Saturday at the Oakdale Country Club in the first Worthley Pond Association Golf Outing. He aced hole 13 and with this feat, he earned a spot in the Oakdale Country Club Hole in One Club.
Sixty-eight golfers ranging from age 13 to late 80s competed to win this event which was held to raise funds to promote conservation efforts on Worthley Pond.
Dan Mitchell, Carroll Noyes, Rodney Daust and Don Hopkins were the first place winners in this scramble organized by association members Dennis and Beth Gallant, Orville and Donna Lind, and Dick and Noella Bean.
Awards were presented to second place winners: Frank Diconzo, Butch McKenna, Greg Dawson, Jeff Mayo, Third place went to to association members Kerry Gill, Peter Carignan, Dennis Flaherty and John Hargraves. Fourth place to Chuck Welch, Frank Williams, Mike Papsadora and Matt Pasadora, and fifth place to Frank Anastasio, John Dickson, Ralph Walker and Ozzie Swett.
Special awards were presented to Mike Papsadora for being closest to pin on 4, Ralph Partridge for closest to line on 2, and Bernie Poirier for being on the line on 13.
