LIVERMORE FALLS – Described as “explorations in sound, music, movement and visual arts,” the Frantasia Festival of Out Music and Arts will be held Aug. 22-24-25 at the Public Library Auditorium.
The creativity, passion and daring of committed artists will be showcased in 21 or more performances over three nights.
Previous festivals have been notable for the electric “in-the-moment” quality of the work of accomplished artists – as well as the variety in the talents and creative works shared.
Some artists use voice, guitar, electronics, cello and keyboard in nontraditional ways. Some performances are communications which might be termed “performance art,” and others question the meaning of music and are an unpredictable, innovative exploration into sound.
The annual festival is the creation of Livermore Falls resident Fran Szostek.
With a reputation for innovation and variety, the 2007 festival will feature returning performers Audrey Chen, Christopher Cathode, Ed Snyder, Greg Boardman, id m theft able, Josh Erskine, M.V. Carbon, Mystic Out Bob Review, Visitations and Noel Walsh. Several artists new to Frantasia are scheduled to appear.
The festival will run from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $9/$7. Call 897-6158. The auditorium is at 56 Main St. For more information, visit www.FrantasiaFestival.com, or e-mail www.jazzcorridor.com.
