GRAY – Patient Advocates, LLC, announces the promotion of Melissa Farinas of Lewiston to the position of manager of information systems and technology. Patient Advocates recently launched a new data management system for client support. The company also launched online access to benefits administration for employers, employees and patients.

Farinas, an information technology specialist and systems analyst, will head up the company’s expanded data management platform. In addition to her new role, she is the health security officer, responsible for maintaining patient records in strict accordance with HIPAA regulations. She has been with Patient Advocates for two years, and has more than 10 years of experience in operations, systems and data management previously with Acorn Products, with six years as database administrator. She holds a bachelor of science degree in management of information systems from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn.
