ANDOVER – Andover’s 12th annual photo contest was held Aug. 4 in the Town Hall. There were 308 photos exhibited – the most ever.

Maine towns contributing were Andover, Bethel, Canton, Casco, Dixfield, Hallowell, Leeds, Lewiston, Machias, Mexico, New Castle, Peru, Roxbury, Rumford, Scarborough, Turner, Upton and Westbrook.

Submissions also came from California, Florida, New Hampshire, Virginia and Washington. One hundred and forty-seven ribbons were awarded.

Major winners were as follows:

Best of show: Ray Lyons, Mexico.

Portrait grand prize: Ray Lyons, Mexico.

Landscape grand prize: Bob Jones, Manakin Sabot, Va.

Animal grand prize: Jayme Wardwell, Leeds.

Black and white grand prize: Blanche Lyons, Rumford.

Ages 11 to 16 grand prize: Katie Billings, Rumford.

Ages 10 and under grand prize: Keerstyn Lyons, Mexico.
