Church supper

OXFORD – A community supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Oxford Congregational Church, King Street. The menu will include turkey, ham, baked beans, casseroles, salads, homemade pies, coffee, tea and cold beverages. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children age 5 and under.

Outdoor service

PARIS – An outdoor service will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road. Those attending should bring a lawn chair. There will be coffee, refreshments and fellowship.

Nature club trip

OXFORD – The Twin Town Nature Club will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, in the Wal-Mart parking lot, south side near Route 26, and car pool to Augusta City Park and nearby field of wildflowers. Bring a picnic lunch. Visitors are welcome. For more information, contact John Crumpton at 539-2902.

Blood drive

LOCKE MILLS – A community blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at the American Legion Hall, Gore Road. Call Olive at 665-2909 or the American Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE for an appointment.

BP checks

BRIDGTON – Bridgton Hospital’s Elaine Drew, RN, certified diabetes educator, will do monthly free blood pressure checks for the community in the lobby of the hospital clinic wing. The screenings will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. For more information, call Pam Smith at 647-6055.

First aid classes

OXFORD – Combined first aid, CPR and AED classes will be held monthly at the Oxford Public Safety Building. Classes are scheduled for Saturdays, Sept. 22, Oct. 20, Nov. 10 and Dec. 15. They will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Healthcare provider BLS, CPR and AED classes are scheduled for Sept. 22, Oct 20, Nov. 10 and Dec.15. The classes will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

All classes are taught following the American Heart Association guidelines.
