LEWISTON – Mike Lacombe and Roger Grondin have captured the “B” title in the Lewiston Rec Doubles Tennis League. That duo defeated Eric Emmarell and Brian Goff in the semifinals. In the other semifinal match, Claude Bergeron-Gary Williams beat Todd Brisson-Ryan Kimball. The Lacombe-Grondin team then grabbed the crown, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.

In Women’s “C” semifinals, it will be Lisa LeBlond-Michelle Crowley meeting Sherri Vallee-Maria Higgins, and Lois Marden-Sara Marden taking on Connie Burke-Lucie Gilbert. Winners will play for the championship.

In the “A” semifinals that will be played on Thursday, Tim Lacombe-Derek Stevenson will meet Steve Norcross-Ron Baril, and Russ Dillingham-Ron Chicoine will take on Mike Burke-Mike Sarrazin. The championship match will be played following the semifinals. There will also be a playoff for third and fourth place.

In Women’s “B”, three teams will vie for the title, if needed. Top 3 teams are Lisa Lally-Frankie Lally, Heidi Poussard-Julie Dionne, and Claudeen Bergeron-Gayle Nyberg.

A reminder to anyone who plans on playing in the Lewiston Rec Fall Singles League and Mixed Doubles League, they need to register at the Lewiston Recreation Department. Play starts the week of August 27.
