This regards a letter from George and Cynthia Jones, published Aug. 8.
Although two heads are better than one, they see and hear more clearly if not buried to their shoulders in garbage.
I strongly suggest the Joneses broaden their scope by reading and listening to a wider range of news and information, so to understand some of the opinions in the world around you.
Too many Americans have been content to blindly trust our leaders. If we don’t use our heads and our rights to hold them accountable, we deserve no freedoms. If we don’t speak out when we see injustice, or merely disagree with our elected representatives, we are not living up to the ideals of our own, highly esteemed insurgents: the revolutionaries and so-called traitors who bedeviled the other “King George.”
