HARPSWELL – The Mountain Avenue Band, a rollicking collection of musicians, will play from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at 104 Edgewater Colony Road to help improve healthcare for Maine’s uninsured.

The free musical jambalaya supports the I.R.I.S. Fund (I’m Really In need of Services), which pays for medical care for clients of Tri-County Health Services who have no insurance or are under-insured. The fund operates under the auspices of Western Maine Community Action.

The band, a notable assemblage of mandolin, guitar, fiddle, bass, drum and banjo players, will bring their foot-stompin’ repertoire to the shores of Harpswell for an afternoon of music, munchies and merriment.

A hat will be passed for donations, and there’ll be a raffle or two. Bring a lawn chair and sunscreen.

For more information, call Tri-County at 795-4007.
