DURHAM – The School Committee has decided to file a notice of intent to consolidate with Freeport and Pownal.
Other options are joining with Brunswick and joining with Freeport, Pownal and Yarmouth.
If the town ultimately decides to join with Freeport and Pownal, Durham’s cost would go up by $152,432. Going with Brunswick would cost an additional $42,246. No figures are available on joining with Freeport, Pownal and Yarmouth.
The committee will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the elementary school gym to present the information to the public and conduct a straw poll. A final decision is due Dec. 31.
