Criminal Mischief

The Lewiston Skate Park was tagged with graffiti overnight Aug. 23-24.

A vehicle parked at 19 River Rd. had a back window smashed out of it overnight Aug. 24-25.

A vehicle parked at Country Lane Estates had a window smashed out of it prior to 2 a.m. on Aug. 26.

A warehouse at 172 Spring St. was tagged with graffiti sometime in the last week.

Burglaries

The Lewiston Redemption Center at 700 Lisbon St. was burglarized sometime between Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 25 at 8:40 a.m. Entry was gained by breaking a plate glass window.

An apartment at 176 Oak St. was burglarized between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25. An XBox 360 was stolen. Entry was gained by prying an entry door.

The Pepperel Mill at 550 Lisbon St. was burglarized between 5 p.m. on Aug. 25 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 26. Entry was gained by prying a padlock, several hydration packs were stolen. It was burglarized a second time overnight Aug. 26-27.

An apartment at 23 Ventura St. was burglarized over the weekend Aug. 24-26. Entry was gained through a sliding glass door, a laptop was stolen from inside.

Bike Thefts

Three tricycles and a tandem bike were stolen from the Sandcastle Daycare at 144 Howe St. overnight Aug. 23-24.

Two bicycles were stolen from the Lewiston Mall parking lot prior to 10 a.m. on Aug. 26.

Motor Vehicle Thefts

A silver 1993 Dodge Dakota pick up – ME REG 137NM was stolen from the street in front of 244 Park St. between 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 25. The keys were not with the vehicle when it was taken.

Derek Demers, 25, was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, operating after habitual offender status, and eluding an officer on Aug. 23 at 161 Canal St. An officer on patrol attempted to stop the car for speeding when it attempted to lose him in a high speed pursuit. The vehicle was located shortly after the chase when it crashed into a traffic control device.

Christopher Moreno, 18, and Jacob Dostie, 19, were arrested for two counts of motor vehicle theft on Aug. 26 at 6:49 p.m. after a juvenile noticed a dirtbike in the bed of pickup that he knew to have been stolen from Highland Ave. last month. Once police interviewed the suspect they admitted to the theft, as well as two other thefts of dirtbikes from the area.

Operating After Suspension Arrest

Anne Perrino, 33, was arrested for operating after suspension on Aug. 25 at 5:30 p.m. at 97 Ash St. following a routine traffic stop.

Operating Under the Influence Arrests

Amanda Bryant, 21, was arrested for operating under the influence on Aug. 26 at 2:45 a.m. at East Ave. and Webster St. following a routine traffic stop.

Eugene Landry, 49, was arrested for operating under the influence on Aug. 27 at 3 a.m. at Main St. and King Ave. following a routine traffic stop.

Aggravated Assault Arrest

Lee Eirby, 58, was arrested for aggravated assault on Aug. 24 at 4:53 p.m. in front of the Derby Club following an altercation with another male. The victim and Eirby had a verbal exhange and Eirby took a metal rod from the alleyway and struck the victim several times in the arm, causing injury.

Narcotics Arrest

Derek Owen, 30, was arrested for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs on Aug. 23 at 12:45 a.m. at 75 Howard St. Detectives were at Owen’s apartment in regards to a different case when he agreed to a search of his apt. Heroin and numerous prescription pills were located during the search.
