FARMINGTON – Lottie came to the Franklin County Animal Shelter almost a year ago. She was a mother with two kittens then; now her kittens have been adopted but she remains.
One of her eyes is a little cloudy due to an ulcer she had when she first arrived. She can see fine though, and the veterinarians said the eye might clear up. She would do great in a home with any type of activities. She does great with other cats, with dogs, with children and with bunnies.
Lottie loves to lie about on the futon and every once in a while her eyes spark and she runs across the floor after a toy mouse or someone’s untied shoe lace.
Staff said she is a loving cat. She has been known to follow people around, especially children, and wait patiently for attention.
The shelter is holding a free cat event until Saturday, Sept. 15. All adult cats are free. They will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated against rabies and FVRCP, tested for Felv/FIV, dewormed, Frontlined, and ear mite checked. The medical work is part of the adoption process. For more information, call 778-2638.
New dogs at the shelter include a beagle mix from Dixfield and a miniature pincher from Jay.
