On Aug. 13, Mr. Michael Milbury responded to our letter of July 29. He accused us of misrepresenting the scandal of our priests in California and therefore the Catholic Church.

He stated that most of these priests were pedophiles – a big name for people who sexually prey on children under the age of puberty. He presented no solid proof or documentation.

We learned our facts from a program on cable television. Father Benedict Groeschel, C.F.R., a priest who happens to be a learned psychologist, has spoken many times about the priests he has been treating for homosexual behavior. Also there were many doctors who were interviewed on the same subject. All agreed only a small minority of priests were involved with prepubescent children. Their involvement was mostly with adolescents.

Also, we learned from this program it is very difficult to change an adult homosexual’s orientation, for they seldom gravitate from boys or adolescents to women. The target is mostly adolescent males. We agree to pray for the innocent, but also for all homosexuals who prey on children, teenagers, etc.

As far as our experience with the gay community, I was approached as an adolescent more than once. More gravely, someone else in our circle was seriously victimized and the man was not a priest.

So again pray for those who prey on the innocent.
