DIXFIELD – Republicans in Maine House District 93 nominated Katherine N. Harvey of Dixfield for state representative for the special election scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 6.

The nomination was made Wednesday night.

The seat is being vacated by Rep. Randy Hotham, R-Dixfield.

“Public service has been a lifelong dream for me,” Harvey said.

She has held positions such as mentor coordinator for Maine Big Bothers Big Sisters and grant manager for SAD 21.

She holds a degree in business administration from Kennebec Community College.

Harvey said education, property rights and revitalization of the local and Maine economy will be her top priorities as state representative.

Maine House District 93 includes the towns of Carthage, Canton, Dixfield, Mexico and Peru.
