Hosts needed

LEWISTON – “Our Fresh Air child doesn’t have a backyard. But here we have room, and it’s very quiet. In fact, our closest neighbors are cows.” As the summer winds down, local host families such as this reflect on their Fresh Air experiences and remember the ways in which their New York City visitor made a difference in their lives.

This summer, 11 children visited volunteer host families in and around Auburn-Lewiston.

Next year, families can also give a New York City child the gift of summer. To find out more about becoming a host family in 2008, contact Marie Reimensnyder at 926-3557 or the Fresh Air Fund at 800-367-0003 or online at www.freshair.org.
