4-H members work on park

OXFORD – The Oxford County 4-H program has been active this year, raising funds and helping local parks and the Oxford Fair with cleanup projects.

Four 4-H clubs have been involved with the project this year. The Telstar Leadership Committee and Bethel 4-H Club started with a local park in Greenwood and commissioned a new sign, painted the playground equipment, painted a large storage building and two dugouts. In addition, the team did four days of garbage pick-up at the local parks.

The 4-H Teen Exchange and Dalmatians 4-H Club planted three new gardens and did landscaping projects on the Oxford Fairgrounds. The gardens are at the front gates and in front of the bathroom on the grounds.

All of the supplies and materials were purchased with a grant from National 4-H Council.
