LEWISTON – Jim Delamater, president and CEO of Northeast Bank and author of “The Great American Mismatch,” continues to promote financial education through Northeast Bank’s sponsorship of workshops at Lewiston Adult Education.

“The shake-up in the mortgage market has many people nervous. Right now, managing money is more important than ever. That’s why setting financial goals, managing a budget and driving home the fundamental value of money are key learning objectives for these workshops,” said Delamater, who will teach one of the workshops.

Hosting the first workshop, “Steps to Accumulating Wealth – So You Can Finish Rich,” will be Certified Financial Planner Professional Leslie Couper and Certified Insurance Counselor Debora Hillier.

The program will demonstrate how taxes and insurance fit into a financial plan, with easy tips on how to budget and monitor spending and help initiate the advancement of personal wealth. It will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Lewiston High School.

In the second workshop, “Financial Planning: A Must for Everyone,” Delamater will explain the importance of developing a financial plan and steps to choosing an adviser, as well as pitfalls to avoid while making the financial decisions.

Joining Delamater will be Certified Financial Planner Professional Kevin Carbin, who will walk through the planning process with tips on setting goals, designing strategies and monitoring results.

The session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Lewiston High School.

Registration is $12 a session through Lewiston Adult Education. Participants in each session will receive a copy of Delamater’s book.
