FARMINGTON – The Farmington Board of Appeals will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday to review an application for a sign variance for Eagle’s Sport Shop. Owners are negotiating a move from their East Wilton site to Farmington.
Eagle’s Sport Shop is proposing to relocate to 249 Farmington Falls Road, the site presently occupied by Nickerson Auto Sales.
The move is still under negotiation, and the sign variance is a part of that negotiation, said shop co-owner Nathan Noles, who is interested in owning a site for the shop.
He has submitted a request for a variance for a large sign, above the 175 square feet allowed in the town’s ordinance. The additional space is needed, said Steve Kaiser, code enforcement officer, because of the brand sign Eagle’s uses at their present site. The application proposes a pylon sign that would include some brand signs as well as some on the building, Kaiser said.
Eagle’s Sport Shop deals in ATVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, scooters, personal watercraft, generators, open and closed trailers and equipment.
