Fortier Family Cheer Center and the Planet Cheer Parents Association participated in the Great Falls Balloon Festival parade organized to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the event. Coaches, gym owners, parents, cheerleaders and friends of Planet Cheer contributed to the building of the float, which earned not only the Director’s Choice Award but also took first in the judging of all the floats. The float contained a four-foot, double-tiered papier-mché cake in recognition of the festival’s anniversary as well as a three foot papier-mché world. Hot air balloon replicas circled the globe, cheerleaders wore martian antennas and one member was dressed as an astronaut, all to compliment the float’s theme, “The Balloon Festival is Out of this World.”
