LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine has begun registration for “Introduction to Competitive Swimming.”

The course is designed for those who are interested in joining a swim team but want to see what it is like before they make the commitment and for those who are already on the swim team and want to work on stroke development. Participants must be able to swim 50 yards.

The course will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The class is designed for youth ages 5 to 14. The class will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and will run through Oct. 4. The cost is $55 for YWCA members and $75 for nonmembers.
