LISBON – St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church will launch a new Intersection Book Club that will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursdays beginning Oct. 4 at the church on Route 196. There will be a new book each month and there will be no charge.

The first selection will be “Surprised by Jesus” by Tim Stafford. Open to all members of the community, participants will engage in discussion or listen to how a particular author challenged or enhanced the presence of God in their lives.

“Readers are particularly open to the energy created by the messy clash of theology and modern living. We hope to create a space for readers in our community who want to share their love of books and how it intersects with spirituality,” said the Rev. Beau Wagner, deacon in charge.

Information on ordering books is available at the parish office, 353-8453. The November selection will be “What Jesus Demands from the World” by John Piper and December, “Jesus Mean and Wild” by Mark Galli.
