LEWISTON – John Galgano and Cheryl Webber are the September artists featured at the Central Maine Medical Center Rotating Art Gallery.
Galgano is a freelance photographer whose works include photos of the gardens he and wife, Joanne, have tended in Poland Spring. Many other pictures are the results of travels they have taken throughout New England.
Galgano started studying photography in high school followed by courses at Stony Brook College in New York and the Art Institute of Boston. His pictures in black and white, sepia, color and cartoon Photoshop can be seen in the Rotating Art Gallery in the main lobby of Central Maine Medical Center.
Webber, of Mechanic Falls, was born and raised in a home where expressing herself through art was encouraged. Her mother and teacher, Irene Duplissis, taught her many forms and mediums, including oil, charcoal, pen and ink, watercolor and clay. Her work is realistic, with special attention to detail, and is displayed in collections worldwide.
The past two years have been devoted to sculpting clay into realistic babies from miniatures to lifelike. The CMMC show will feature a large collection of her watercolor paintings. She can be reached at 346-6015.
The gallery is sponsored by the Woman’s Hospital Association in its ongoing effort to support patients with fundraising throughout the year.
For more information about the monthly art exhibits, contact Kathleen Cormier, rotating art gallery chairwoman, at 346-3462. The CMMC Gift Shop can be reached at 795-2295 to learn more about the association.
