Bridge play

RUMFORD – Rumford Duplicate Bridge Club winners on Sept. 6 were: first, Jean and Stan Sotman; second, Donna and Ozzie Swett; third, Marilyn and Erick Sahlberg. The club will hold the annual pizza party at the next meeting

Trail Blazers

MEXICO – The Trail Blazers will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, downstairs at the Mexico Town Hall. Anyone joining before Dec. 5 will be eligible to win $200. Membership applications are available at the meetings or Wentzell’s Auto Body Shop on Roxbury Road.

DIXFIELD – The women of Stephens High School Class of 1948 will meet at the Front Porch Cafe at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. Call Anita at 364-4138 if attending.

Tai chi class

BETHEL – The ancient movement art of tai chi will be taught through the Goose Eye Institute. The beginner classes will start Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 10 to 11a.m. and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Betsey Foster, MPH, will teach the classes. She has studied tai chi since 1988 and taught since 1993. The morning class will be held at Ellie’s Express and the evening class at the Bethel Health Center.

Church supper

RUMFORD – The Rumford United Methodist Church will hold a public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in the downstairs Fellowship Hall. Nellie Burgess is meal coordinator. The menu will include homebaked beans, casseroles, salad and pies. The charge will be $6 for adults and $2 for children.
