Let’s get off the Democrat/Republican bandwagon. President George W. Bush had his chance to get out of Iraq right after his speech on the deck of an aircraft carrier, with a banner behind him stating “Mission Accomplished.”

This invasion – war – is wrong and has been from the start. The president should listen to the people of America, all of us, including independents like me: let’s bring our young men and women home. They have a job to do here, like protecting our borders and ports.

Our borders pose a bigger threat to the U.S. than the Middle East at this time. I believe, my opinion, the insurgents are there in Iraq because we’re there. They sure will try to get in here so why not secure our ports and land crossings now. Let’s not forget that Israel can surely police their part of the world if we let them.

The Iranians know that, as well.

Last, but not least, we can sure use the billions here instead of wasting it there.
