NORWAY – William Henry Tatro, 80, of South Paris, died Thursday, Sept. 13, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.
He was born in White Plains, N.Y., on May 13, 1927, the son of Theodore and Helen Akin Tatro. He graduated from high school in New York, and attended Iona College and Columbia University.
He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married Eileen Haverinen in 1971. He had been employed as an accountant for a construction firm in New York. He was a lifetime member and chief of Hawthorne, N.Y., volunteer fire department.
He was an active member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norway and the V.F.W. Post 9787 in South Paris. He played clarinet with the band, “The Parisiens” and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by a sister, Barbara Osgood of Turrytown, N.Y.; a brother, Theodore Tatro of Wauchula, Fla.; and a nephew, Bradley Grosse of Ballston Spa, N.Y.
He was predeceased by his wife in January 2006.
