SANFORD – William N. Randell, 92, formerly of Needham, Mass., Moody and York, died Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Greenwood Center.
He was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Jamaica Plain, Mass., a son of George M. and Gladys (Newell) Randell. He attended the Lewiston school system and graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass.
He graduated from Yale University with a master’s degree in Romance Language and from Middlebury, Vt. college with a master’s degree in French. He taught at the Huntington School in Boston from 1945 to 1970 retiring as headmaster. He was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi at Yale University and the School Masters Club. He was chairman of Evaluations Committee for the New England Association of College and secretary schools.
He leaves his wife of 70 years, Margaret Denning March Randell; a son, John M. Randell, and his wife, Joanne, of Downingtown, Pa.; two grandchildren, Darren Randell, and his wife, Jennifer, and Kyle Randell, all of Downingtown, Pa.; one great-grandson, Connor Randell.
He was predeceased by a brother, Daniel T. Drummond Jr..
