MEXICO – The Women’s Fellowship of the Mexico Congregational United Church of Christ held its first meeting of the season recently at the Sumner home of Esther Cooper.

President Shirley Fifield conducted the meeting, at which plans were discussed for a take-out baked bean supper and a “mystery dinner” the Fellowship will serve to a Red Hat group.

There was also some discussion of the “Christmas at the Green Fair,” which will be held on Nov. 3. Donation of items suitable for a Chinese auction were requested. Members were reminded that handmade crafts were needed and that attic treasures will be an added feature. No clothing will be sold, but attic treasures may be brought in as people do their fall cleaning.

Pastor Ginger also announced plans to hold a spiritual Bible conversation on Tuesdays, Oct. 9 to Nov. 6. The book, “The Purpose-Driven Life: What on Earth am I here for?,” will be used, and meetings will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the church dining room.
